The Bohemians of the Latin Quarter

Living in poverty and with the poor health, French novelist, Murger began writing poems that depicted the Bohemian life in Paris. This classic novel is based on a sketches from magazines that later were made into a successful play. One of the characters - Rodolphe, "the great poet" is modeled after the author himself
