Eleanor Marie is a sweet, little girl with remarkable intellectual function. She has the natural ability to memorize all sorts of things like literature, multiplication tables, and DNA sequences. When Eleanor leaves home for the first time to try school, she quickly realizes her extraordinary memory is not only a blessing but a curse. She has trouble adjusting to school when her teacher, Miss Beaderman, disapproves of her learning to read words by memory. Eleanor, who becomes reluctant to continue traditional school, proves to Miss Beaderman that her incredible memory is useful, all while saving the day for her classmates!
